Travel and Parking

NEW FOR 2010

Following an extensive Traffic Management Review, RAF Leuchars Airshow has for 2010 adopted a new car parking strategy. In collaboration with Fife Constabulary, Fife Council and Traffic Scotland we have devised a system whereby parking will be in three park and ride sites. A limited number of Premium parking spaces and disabled parking will be available on base (colour coded YELLOW).

The three park and ride sites are located on the flyer map and will be colour coded. Each park and ride site will have a designated drop off/pick up point on base and will be colour coded accordingly.

RAF Leuchars Airshow would ask that you consider car sharing. By car sharing, you could save money on your petrol costs and reduce the environmental impact of your journey. Just register your journey details with trip share Fife and the site will match you with other people who would like to share a lift to the event. By car sharing you'll save money and help to reduce the amount of congestion on the roads.

Catering and toilet facilities will be available in each Park and Ride site.

1. From the North and North West

Take the A90 route to Dundee over the Tay Bridge and follow AA signs to the Airshow or use the alternative Park and Ride site off the A92. (RED)

2. From the South

Exit M90 at junction 2a Glenrothes/Kirkcaldy. A92 (Tay Bridge) route joining A91 to St Andrews, via Cupar. Follow AA signs to the Airshow or use the alternative Park & Ride on the A91. (BLUE)

3. Kincardine Bridge

A977, M90 junction 6 North, exit junction 8 onto A91 to St Andrews, via Cupar. Follow AA signs to the Airshow or use the alternative Park & Ride on the A91. (BLUE)

4. South East Fife (for entry into the New Strathtyrum Park and Ride site) (WHITE)

A915 Leven, Upper Largo, St Andrews, A91 West. For those travelling who have not pre-booked Strathtyrum Park and Ride please follow signs to Seggie Field Park and Ride.

5. Access and Exit

Please note that last entry to the Park and Ride facilities is 3pm. For easy and safe access to and from the event please follow all directions from Fife Constabulary and RAF personnel.

ROUTING REMINDER

Due to the change of traffic routing for the Airshow please follow AA signs and the directions of Fife Constabulary. Entry to RAF Leuchars Airshow without relevant passes WILL NOT be permissible and will result in redirection to a Park and Ride site and could result in considerable delays.

The change of routing has been adopted to minimise delays. However, it is inevitable some slight delays may occur and to avoid disappointment it is recommended that you arrive early or utilise public transport.
